Awesome game
Great game, been playing the story since I got it. Half-way through. Some observations:

- Great sound, really moody, adds to the atmosphere, reacts to being detected, good for a cue. Great sound acting.

- Story is well written, engaging, Sam Fisher is the supreme badass.

- Very good graphics, despite the aging and ubiquitous Unreal...

 A good game
This is a good game, but it takes a while to get into.
The first 20 minutes is spent steering the horse around obstacles, which is pretty boring, let's be honest.
But once you start learning how to cast different spells and begin fighting off Hobbes and Balverines it's a pretty fun game.
This isn't like the other fable games because it lacks the free...

A review from an impartial gamer
I play a lot of different RPG's and was not a fan of Elder Scrolls Oblivion. I will list the pros and cons as impartially as possible so you can be the judge on what matters to you.

PROS:

- You are left to explore and find things to do and quests on your own. This game is a true RPG. You have one main quest. Everything else are side quests...

Flawed but a Fun Step Up from 2
The angry sims community has been lashing out at this new version rather harshly, and for some rightly so. There are tales of crashes and performance issues and other bugs galore. But overall, if you are able to play it, step back and take a deep breath, you will see that is a nice step up from the second installment.

Many things about Sims 2 really bugged...

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Video Game)
I've divided the following review into sections, based on the type of gameplay from Modern Warfare 2:

Single-Player Campaign:
Pros:
1) Action: The single-player campaign from Modern Warfare 2 is one of the most intense, white-knuckle, action-packed campaigns of any video game I have played EVER. The story is relatively good, and, except for one or two points (mentioned in cons), flows reasonably well. The missions themselves are adventures that will blow your mind. I don't want to spoil anything for prospective players, but as seen in the multiple trailers that preceded the game itself, snowmobiles, silenced snipers, heartbeat sensors, and steering television-guided missiles are among the many amazing things that come in this package. I have played the entire campaign through twice since the game's release midnight on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 - the first time on regular difficulty and a second time on veteran difficulty - and it definitely did not get old in between. Imagine a blockbuster action cinematic - but you're the hero.

2) Challenge: The single-player campaign from Modern Warfare 2 is very challenging, more so than that from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Some might see this as a con, but I deem it otherwise. I would say that playing the campaign on regular is approximately equivalent to playing COD4's campaign on hardened. Regular to hardened represents a reasonable level of difficulty; veteran, however (and speaking from experience for the entire campaign) is, at some points, nigh impossible, and I'm NOT exaggerating. On two or three missions there were certain points where I died probably about two dozen times before managing to fight past the enemies or figure out a way to evade them. This, however frustrating, makes for all-the-greater amount of satisfaction when you beat the level, though.

LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes (Video Game)
I have purchased and played every Lego game that's been put out (except for the music one) and this is another wonderful release. The first thing I was struck by is how IMMENSE the game is! The maps are large and there are so many things to do in the hub area. I have been playing for around 6 hours and have only complete 13% of the game and it's all been fun. It's exactly like the other Lego games (except bigger, brighter and so many fun things to do and look at).

I am an adult gamer and these Lego games keep me entertained and happy. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this game for a kid to play alone. I have trouble figuring some things out (on other Lego games) and have had to use YouTube playthroughs to progress.

But as usual, there is co-op play and a child would have so much fun playing with an adult (and the adult would have fun as well).

I recommend this game as highly as a recommendation can be. You will not be disappointed in any way.

Game Dance Central 2

Dance Central 2
Microsoft

 Video Games - Best Sellers

Dance Central 2 (Video Game) For those of you who have the Kinect, Dance Central was THE game to get for it. With songs like "Poison" and "Brick House", it was the first game that actually made me want to get off my butt and dance. Though - to be fair, Kinect Sports and Kinect Adventures are great games in their own right, there's nothing quite like the feeling you get when your dance moves sends your friend crying off to mommy. Haha - but in all seriousness, Dance Central made dancing fun. With Break it Down mode, you could learn moves at your own pace, and the actual song never stopped just because you weren't doing so well that one time.

If you didn't think it could get any better, trust me -- it does. The main feature to come to Dance Central 2 is the ability of two people to play at the same time. The function works well enough, though it does get awkward depending on which songs you do. It's actually not a fault of the Kinect, just that one person's body movements sometimes gets in front of yours, and it confuses the game. A nice addition to the game is that when you pick a song, before you play it, the game actually does a little preview of the dance moves involved with the songs - a nice quick way to see how difficult the moves actually are (or aren't).

You also can import your songs from the original Dance Central, unfortunately - you have to pay for the privilege. I really shouldn't have to spend Microsoft Points to redownload the songs - just allow me to store the songs from Dance Central on the HDD or USB stick, and play them from there in Dance Central 2. Also, one of the commentors had mentioned that the dancers don't do their little quirky sayings and moves in the beginning of songs anymore. He's correct, but I'm sure I like it or not. Having them making random sayings or moves gave them personality - almost making me choose one over the others. Maybe it's just me though....

One more thing that can be hit or miss: the game now allows you to go through menus and change options by the regular hand swipes, or with your voice. The voice recognition does work, but I've noticed that it sometimes has a hard time picking up your voice when you're in a song. I really don't like having to turn my TV down when I'm singing "Break Your Heart" by Taio Cruz, ok Harmonix??

Those are really the only three things I can say that are somewhat a negative to this fantastic sequel. They also changed up the songs somewhat - picking some more 90s and today's hits, like "What is Love?" by Haddaway and "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot. I have to say it - flawless performance on this, Harmonix. Another thing I enjoyed: Dance Battles just got a whole lot more interesting. Instead of having Freestyle like in Perform It mode, they took it out, and put in Freestyle Moves, where the game shows you 4 different moves, and each person can choose whichever they want to perform, but if you and the other player start performing the SAME move, you basically go head-to-head to see who can finish the move correctly FIRST. I can't tell you how much more fun and competitive that made Dance Battles. Also something to note - Dance Central 2 introduced Gold Moves, which are worth 4x the points. And yes - Gold Moves are in Freestyle Moves (can't tell you how much of a competition that creates).

Between the awesome selection of music to the once-again awesome and nice twist of humor in the move names (Sir Mix-It-Up, Funky Charleston just a few of the ones I noticed), Dance Central 2 proves that if you just put the time and effort into it, sequels really can be better than the originals....

Activision Skylanders Giants Single Character Swarm (Accessory) Swarm is one of the new GIANT Skylanders available at release of the new Skylander Giants game. These giants are absolutely devastating characters. They can walk through small baddies, crates, chests and destroy special Giant Smash gates. They are also slow and not particularly well suited for jumping (3DS players)I always pair a giant with a speedy (Pop Fizz) or good jumper (Gill Grunt).

Swarm develops into a nice, quality character to play with but he will not dominate the way Crusher does. (Crusher is practically unstoppable!)

Most Skylander choices come down to preference and attraction to the character design. If you like Swarm's look, you won't be disappointed in your purchase once you get him in game.

Grand Theft Auto IV

Grand Theft Auto IV (Video Game) Just when you think you have Rockstar Games and their legendary Grand Theft Auto series figured out, they pitch you one heck of a curve. Speaking as a guy who spent so much time running amok in Vice City and San Andreas that I practically had to file tax returns there, I have been consistently surprised by the depth of play in GTA IV. Yes, it's true that the character modeling and some of the action moves are a little choppy, but most of the game looks great. Far more interesting, however, is the fact that this is not a video game per se - it borders on an interactive movie. The crime and violence in fuzzy-lit, pastel colored Vice City is practically cartoonish compared to the gritty reality of life in Liberty City in GTA IV. You're not just a thug with a bat trying to decide which car to lift, you're an immigrant with plenty of emotional baggage, forced into a series of moral quandries the outcomes of which carry implications throughout the entire game. Things you do even turn up later on the in-game radio stations!

Every generation of game console, some game is proclaimed the next coming, be it of graphics, or gameplay, or some other measurable category. GTA IV is different. You can wallow in the muck of street violence and prostitution as always, but there's a deeper moral play going on that feels unlike anything else I've encountered not only in GTA, but in video games in general. Rockstar Games may have finally located that most ephemeral of experiences - one equal parts game and cinema, without belonging entirely to either. It's going to be interesting to see how many critics and politicians seize on only the overt, adult content, without grasping how far more creative and artistic this "game" is than your average deadening FPS or racing game. Rockstar Games is to be commended for what truly deserves to be called "genius."

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Video Game)

So, I recently began playing this game again because, for all its problems, I still love it. My ps3 downloaded the latest 1.4 patch which seems to have fixed the game. After eighty hours of play with no lag it seems like the latest patch has made the game playable even after the save file is 8mb. Only twice did the game freeze on me and a glitch seems to be preventing me from finishing the Forbidden Legend mission which is really annoying. Other than that, the game plays beautifully, even after hours of continuous play. I decided to upgrade my rating back to the original five because, for all the problems the ps3 version had, this game deserves it.

*Original review with updates*
Before I begin, I should point that I'm still a recent convert to Elder Scrolls fandom, having never played Morrowind, let alone the two before that. In fact, I only played Oblivion for the first time this year. Oblivion was the first open-world RPG I'd ever played and was also the only one that took me months and months to get tired of, having little patience for RPGs longer than 60+ hours. Once I was hooked, I wanted Skyrim as badly as anyone else because I knew that even if it was only better than Oblivion by a factor of 1.1 it'd still be a godly masterpiece.

With that said, this will mostly compare the two, Oblivion and Skyrim.

For starters, the character creation is more stream-lined and simpler than Oblivion's while still giving nearly infinite choices. I admit the character creation in Oblivion was a bit of a joke since none of the races looked very appealing in the first place and looked more like rejects from a low budget CGI movie. The Dark Elves didn't look menacing, they looked like red-eyed Keebler elves; the Argonians looked like anthropomorphic iguanas and everyone else looked like dolls.
Skyrim's character's look real and beautiful this time, and fine-tuning their features is easier since all the slider bars go from 1-5 or 1-10 instead of a mind-numbing 1-50. Coloring your Argonian is no longer a chore that involves fighting with the color sliders every step of the way. If you want a rainbow colored Argonian you can do it. Eyes are no longer off limits either, nor are scaring or face-paint if so desired.

Skyward Sword with Music CD

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with Music CD
 Nintendo

 Video Games - Best Sellers

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword with Music CD (Video Game) The Legend of Zelda series is one of the greatest video game franchises of all time, if not arguably *thee* greatest. With each release, Nintendo has showed us the magic of journeying through Hyrule's beautiful kingdom. Now, they have done it again, greatly injecting innovation into the tried-and-true formula of past titles. This is a Zelda game unlike any other, and feels all at once both an incredible nostalgic celebration of 25 years of history, and a wholly new adventure full of wild, awesome new directions. Get ready for a fairly long review, but please know that this is written from the heart of a young man who loves the series above most others in his favorite pastime.

The story and characters present in Skyward Sword are very different among the other Zelda titles, despite the obvious recurring ones. I don't just mean the amazing setting of Link's home, Skyloft, a fantastical city floating above the clouds where everone is bonded to their own guardian birdlike creature, a loftwing. No, from the start, Nintendo truly changes almost everything of what you'd come to expect from a Zelda game. This is the earliest tale in the series chronologically, acting as a prequel, making way for Ocarina of Time's tale to come. Zelda is not a princess here, just another common schoolgirl. She and Link have been best friends since childhood, and may even have feelings for each other (it's pretty obvious, and incredibly touching. My wife and I were both pretty moved by it). In Skyloft, the local school is essentially a knights academy, the uniform being a tunic that is easily recognizable to fans of the series. After completing a ceremony to become a senior in his class (the senior tunic is, you guessed it, dark green), Zelda and Link ride together through the sky to celebrate. Out of nowhere, a malevolent tornado knocks Zelda to "the surface," a vast, unexplored land below the cloud cover and once again, Link takes up the mantle of being a fated hero, destined to save the day. I'll stop here, because this is virtually spoiler free and if I say more it won't be. Just know that Nintendo has really changed up the formula of story and characters we've come to expect from the Zelda franchise, and as a result, Skyward Sword feels incredibly refreshing.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Video Game)
Many were left disappointed with MW2's cliffhanger ending. Although we all knew that there would be a third game, we were left craving for more. Well Modern Warfare 3 is here but does it live up to the hype?

Campaign: The Campaign has the same awesome quality that the COD series is known for. Although the main appeal is the multiplayer the campaign should not be overlooked. It provides a nice finale to the Modern Warfare series. I wont spoil it but its primarily about finding Makarov and WW3 which is an international conflict between Ultranationalist Russia and Europe and the United States. You start out fighting your way through a war torn NYC which concludes with a helicopter gunship battle over manhatten. Later you'll attempt to retake a hijacked airplane, chase down terrorists by train car in the London subway, provide cover fire for your team from an AC-130 gunship, and fight through the streets of Berlin. The campaign is intense, visceral, and satisfying.

Multiplayer: Sadly this is where the game suffers. The multiplayer seems like a step back from MW2. On the plus side its still the same fast paced action that you know from previous COD games. They also have a weapon level system which to me is the best way of unlocking the attatchments. They also got rid of some of the more overpowered perks such as stopping power and one man army and fixed others such as scavenger. Theres also a new game mode called Kill Confirmed which is pretty fun. The killstreaks have also been revamped into point streaks which are put into "Strike Packages". Some of the new killstreaks are pretty cool such as the Osprey Gunner and Reaper Drone. Also there is the new support package which continues stacking even after you die and then there is the specialist package which allows you to access more then three perks. Now on to the bad part. First the spawn system is horrible in this game. Sometimes you'll spawn only to get killed three seconds later and this might happen who knows how many times. Second many of the maps are just flat out poorly made. Some are too big which makes it impossible to find your enemy and turns a match into a game of chance, others are too small and are loaded with campers and many of them are loaded with debris, burnt out buidlings, junk, and destroyed vehicles which turn many matches into a total camp fest and makes manuvering through them very difficult. One map in particular "Resistance" is also loaded with parked cars on the street which if they explode can kill. Can't tell you how annoying it is to be killed by an exploding car because of someone's missed grenades. The M-16 which used to be a decent gun has now been nerfed to the point where its useless, sadly we can thank all the people who complained about this gun in previous games for that. We can also thank the complainers for the fact that explosives in this game are almost useless and Danger Close has been taken out completely, why they took it out idk because the problem perk was One Man Army and since Scavenger was nerfed I dont think there was any need to get rid of this perk. Finally some of the new killstreaks are just useless, great Examples are Strafe Run and Assault Drone, and they got rid of some of my favorites such as the Harriers and Chopper Gunner. Finally the Support Package is a bit overpowered I cant count how many times just recovered from an EMP only to have another one pulled on us by somebody in the other team. Despite all these flaws the multiplayer is still fun but they really need to fix the above for the next game.

Special Ops: This is what really saves the game. Special Ops are back and those who couldnt get enough of the earlier campaign will enjoy this. These are single player missions seperate from the campaign and when you complete them on higher difficulties. Also the new Survival mode is amazing, this is in a way like Firefight from Halo. You basically have to survive wave after wave of incoming enemies while purchasing and upgrading your equipment and as you complete more spec ops missions more equipment becomes available for use. Definitely one of the high points of game

Final Say: MW3 is a great game worth owning, the multiplayer is a step back but is still enjoyable but the real saving grace here is the Special Ops and Survival mode.

PS3 Gran Turismo 5 XL Edition (Video Game)

I bought the XL edition, having owned both GT3 and GT4 and having never played GT5. The game is as fun and challenging as I expected and there is a huge variety of tracks and cars and events. The game itself is good and the only complaint that I have would be the load times, which are frequent and long enough to really distract from the game itself.

As far as the XL edition specifically is concerned, it probably wasn't the best choice for me. It was nice that all of the game updates were included etc etc and most of the XL content is great but the fact that so many good cars were included right at the beginning of the game actually kind of ruined the game for me. I instantly took the Red Bull prototype car (by far the fastest in the game and worth about 20 million credits) and began destroying races in it. I quickly collected millions of dollars, which allowed me to purchase awesome cars for the races which the redbull car couldn't enter.

I say this kind of ruined the game because Gran Turismo, at it's core, has always derived it's pleasure from pain. The pain of being dominated in races because you have neither enough credits nor enough talent to win this race or that. This experience in frustration always challenged me to rise above and save money to upgrade my car and do license tests to improve my skills etc. until I finally, after pouring so much into the game, had the satisfaction of winning that event. Having really fast cars for free has taken most of that experience away. Races are easy when your car can lap the fastest opponent (despite crashing several times). This reduces the need for driving skill and really lowers the overall satisfaction of the game. So, what I've had to do is start trying to find the worst car that I can for each race or series and try to win with that. It brings some of the satisfaction back, but the experience still lacks the underdog feeling that I always got from starting out on the rock bottom and clawing my way to the top.

Overall, the game is great despite inordinately long load times, but if you are like me and always liked GT because of the work involved in mastering it, the XL edition might not be the best choice.

Simply put, this game is a kick azz killer.Even though it's about 4 years old, the graphics are great and the gameplay fun as ever. However, tribes has a steep learning curve (took me about 4 months to be able to hold my own) The training missions do help quite a bit (that AI could have some nasty aim) But the skillz will come with time. Team work is great (provided you join a decend team) Nothing is more satisfying than seeing your clanmates fight to retake their base that was overrun after an enemy invasion, load up a couple of bombers and bomb the enemy back to the iron age, then getting some guys in the enemy base too take it over - Then parking a tank or two and a Mobile point base with a morter turrent right next to the enemy base to maximize damage. If you get tribes, you will be in for some epic battles on land, in the air, and underwater. Don't miss out on this one ;) see ya on the battle field
